Aamir Riaz is an educationist, researcher, publisher, columnist and writer. He writes columns in various leading news papers and journals on different socio-political issues and has also edited, reviewed and published numerous books. He writes in Punjabi, Urdu and English. As a consultant, he worked with various national and international organizations.

His extensive research on Pakistan’s Education Policies from 1947 till to-date is priceless which partly reflects in his research study “What we are teaching our children”. It is content analysis of Pakistani school textbooks. During 1980s, he has volunteered to various left oriented student groups & parties including Nationalist Student Organization (NSO), Punjab Progressive Student Alliance, and Awami National Party (ANP). During 1990s, he was among founders of a politico-cultural organization Punjab Lok Lehar (PLL) and participated in a movement to introduce mother tongue Punjabi as medium of instruction and promotion of Punjabi language, history and culture.

Currently Mr. Amir is editor of Awami Jamhouri Forum (ajfpk.org), and General Manager Publications at Readings, (readings.com.pk) a leading Book Venture in Lahore. Mr. Aamir Riaz has been with Bargad since 2003. He proved to be a great supporter for Bargad for its enhancement and outreach by spreading message of Bargad. His contribution for Bargad Magazine is vital especially the series of Bargad Magazine on education policies are worth mentioning here.


Abdul Basit Chaudhary A graduate from the Government College Lahore, he did his LLB from University of the Punjab, Lahore. Currently, he is working as an advocate in the High Court. He is a life member of the Lahore High Court Bar and an honorary member of the Gujranwala Bar.

He has been on various committees of the Lahore High Court Bar. He served as board member of Bargad for many years and is one of the founding members of BARGAD. He has been a special source of support and guidance to the organization especially in legal matters.

Ali Salman is the founder and executive director of Policy Research Institute of Market Economy (PRIME), a free market economy think tank based at Islamabad. He has worked as a consultant for major international development organizations, government entities and non-profits. Ali is author of Price Controls: Implications for Liberty and Welfare, and Discord between Economic Freedom and Social Justice in Islam. Ali writes columns in the Express Tribune, leading English daily. He has master degrees in Economics, Public Policy and Business Administration. Ali is a visiting fellow at Institute of Economic Affairs, London and an alumnus of International Academy of Leadership, Germany.

Mr. Salman has been with Bargad since 2003. He provides his expertise to Bargad for its strategic planning/decisions and performs advisory role for Bargad's Evaluation Committee. Mr. Salman is author of Bargad publication: Alternative Youth Policy in Pakistan


Manager Admin & Finance: Jinnah Welfare Society - Gujranwala

Jamil Anjum has acquired the degree of MBA (Banking & Finance) From Allam Iqbal Open University in 2007. He was the member of a like minded team which played a pivotal role in the establishment of Jinnah Welfare Society (JWS). When JWS signed an agreement with South Asia Partnership (SAP_PK) and Asia Foundation, he was the person who took the portfolio of Accounts & Finance for the execution of Micro Finance, Non- Formal Basic Education and Health Projects. While working with JWS, Mr. Anjum moved into position of Manager Admin & Finance in 1997. In this position, he worked on financial matters and provided assistance and support to operation department. Along his association with JWS, he also strengthens an amicable bond with Bargad by attending numerous conferences, meetings and celebrations organized by Bargad.

Mohammad Tahseen is known for his grass roots activism and policy advocacy work in civil society circles of Pakistan and South Asia. Actively engaged in different national and international networks and movements for peace, ecology, democracy and human rights. As a founding Executive Director of South Asia Partnership Pakistan (SAP-PK), he has worked extensively in South Asia with SAP International, a consortium of SAPs in Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India. SAP-PK is one of the leading national level NGOs in Pakistan working for the rights and economic empowerment of the weakest sections of the society, especially peasants, women and religious minorities.

Tahseen has been associated with the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) as a member for the very beginning. He is a founder member of Pakistan NGO Forum, a national platform of Pakistani NGOs and served as it’s first Secretary. He is serving as chairperson of Building Bridges Project of Forum International de Montreal (FIM). FIM is a Canadian organization based in Montreal and primarily working to enhance understanding of various multilateral donors including Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). He is also serving as Chairperson of Pakistan National Committee (PNC) of IUCN. He plays a pivotal role in bringing trade unions, media organizations, peasants’ movements and civil society organizations together at national forums to struggle for the common cause. He is working as a member Federal Planning Commission on the committee working rural development and devolution.

Recognizing Tahseen’s services for democracy and human rights in Pakistan, he has been awarded Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Rights Award by the President of Pakistan.Mohammad Tahseen has been playing very constructive role in growth of Bargad since 2001. He always provides his deep insight on representation and role of Bargad helping it to strategize the energies towards youth development. At difficult times of Bargad, he not only guides its team to come out with best possible solutions; also provides his moral and social support during those tough time periods.


Qazi Shoaib Babar has been affiliated with Jinnah Welfare Society (JWS) since its inception in 1992, and he is serving as Chief Executive Officer of JWS from twelve years. He is one of the founder members who laid down the foundation of Jinnah Welfare Society, a non profitable and non governmental organization.

He has obtained the Master’s degree in Political Science from University of the Punjab, Lahore. From 1997-2009, under his dynamic leadership JWS achieved phenomenal success in a short span of time. He made untiring efforts to develop linkages and networking with different donor agencies and due to his endeavors JWS succeeded to sign an agreement of partnership with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) for micro credit & enterprise development.

He has traveled around the world in order to earn exposure and funds for this non-profitable and nongovernmental organization. Regarding his alliance with Bargad, he is associated with Bargad for more than 10 years, and he is always ready to ensure his cordial presence in most activities of Bargad and provide his worthy input.
